The Lab is equipped with:
  • High-purity Germanium detector for radiation measurements of solid and liquid samples
  • Automatic Low Background Alpha/Beta Counting System
  • Radon monitor for measurements of ambient air, soil gas, and water samples
  • Portable NaI(Tl) with γ-emitting isotope identification capability
  • Geiger–Müller counter
  • Electronic personal dosimeters
  • Electromagnetic field meters for 30 Hz - 6 GHz (from ELF to SHF)

Services

The Environmental Radiation Laboratory is capable of providing measurement services in:
  • Environmental radiation
  • Radon gas concentration (air and water samples)
  • Radionuclide activity and dose (water and soil samples)
  • Electromagnetic radiation around antennas, transformers, etc
Additionally, the Lab aims to:
  • conduct basic and applied research in relevant subjects
  • supervise undergraduate students in relevant subjects
  • run research and developmental projects in cooperation with the scientific community and the society
